The Myth of the Good War: America in World War II | Global Research

The Myth of the Good War: America in World War II | Global Research: n the night of February 13-14, 1945, the ancient and beautiful capital of Saxony, Dresden, was attacked three times, twice by the RAF and once by the USAAF, the United States Army Air Force, in an operation involving well over 1,000 bombers. The consequences were catastrophic, as the historical city centre was incinerated and between 25,000 and 40,000 people lost their lives.[1]

Dresden was not an important industrial or military centre and therefore not a target worthy of the considerable and unusual common American and British effort involved in the raid. The city was not attacked as retribution for earlier German bombing raids on cities such as Rotterdam and Coventry, either. In revenge for the destruction of these cities, bombed ruthlessly by the Luftwaffe in 1940, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and countless other German towns big and small had already paid dearly in 1942, 1943, and 1944.

World War II: The Unknown War | Global Research

World War II: The Unknown War | Global Research: As I have reported in a number of columns, many, if not most, Americans have beliefs that are not fact-based, but instead are emotion-based. So I knew that at least one person would go berserk, and he did. JD from Texas wrote to set me straight. No one but “our American boys” won that war. JD didn’t know that the Russians were even in the war.

JD had the option of consulting an encyclopedia or a history book or going online and consulting Wikipedia prior to making a fool of himself. But he chose instead to unload on me. JD epitomizes US foreign policy: rush into every fight that you know nothing about and start new ones hand over fist that someone else will win.

Why Don’t More Soldiers Walk Away?

Why Don’t More Soldiers Walk Away?June 09, 2014 "ICH" - American news media portrays Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl and his apparent decision to simply walk away from the war in Afghanistan as bizarre and incomprehensible.

I wonder why it doesn’t happen all the time.

"Thank You For Your Service" - Speak for Yourself

"Thank You For Your Service" - Speak for YourselfBut why should anyone thank the troops for their service? Why should anyone thank the troops for fighting an unjust, immoral, unnecessary, senseless, and unconstitutional war? Why should anyone thank the troops for bombing and destroying Afghanistan? Why should anyone thank the troops for killing tens of thousands of innocent Afghans? Why should anyone thank the troops for making tens of thousands of widows and orphans? Why should anyone thank the troops for collateral damage of dead civilians? Why should anyone thank the troops for instigating, perpetrating, participating in, or otherwise being a part of atrocities, war crimes, and mass murder?

Tightening the U.S. Grip on Western Europe

Tightening the U.S. Grip on Western EuropeWith astonishing unanimity, NATO leaders feign surprise at events they planned months in advance. Events that they deliberately triggered are being misrepresented as sudden, astonishing, unjustified “Russian aggression”. The United States and the European Union undertook an aggressive provocation in Ukraine that they knew would force Russia to react defensively, one way or another.

US Turns Blind Eye to Lugansk Massacre

US Turns Blind Eye to Lugansk MassacreThe US mainstream media dutifully reported the Kiev government line as fact. The anti-Kiev forces had blown up their own headquarters, they wrote. Just as several weeks ago they wrote that the anti-Kiev forces in Odessa had set themselves on fire.

Dozens of videos on social media clearly showed Kiev-sent aircraft firing into cities and civilian centers in eastern Ukraine. The US mainstream media ignored this evidence and continued to repeat the Kiev line that the pro-autonomy forces had again massacred themselves.
